Here’s what Vestas wrote today on its LinkedIn page:

“We are proud to deliver safe and sustainable wind energy – with over 1.8 GW of installed and under construction capacity, we are the largest OEM in Romania, supported by an extensive services organization.

In 2025, we will:

🔹 Installed over 50 wind turbines, strengthening the backbone of renewable energy in Romania.

🔹 Delivered key milestones in the Green Breeze, Săcele and Vifor I projects.

🔹 Secured orders of over 500 MW, including for the Vifor II and Anshtall wind farms, as well as multiple service contract renewals.

🔹 Continued to expand our presence our highly qualified local team and a strong operational base, which includes five service hubs and a regional training center.

These achievements reflect the collective effort of our teams, customers and partners who continue to trust us to deliver – year after year. We look forward to the year ahead with the opportunity to continue to have a positive impact in Romania and the entire Balkan region”.

Vestas is one of the largest global companies in the wind energy industry, headquartered in Denmark, and has over 40 years of experience in the development, production, installation and maintenance of wind turbines. The company operates in over 80 countries and has installed more than 160 GW of wind capacity worldwide. Vestas offers solutions for both onshore and offshore projects and through its extensive service network, Vestas maintains an active fleet of over 150 GW. The company had a business of EUR 17.3 billion in 2024.

Vestas reorganized its business last year by creating a new unit that includes Southeastern Europe, including Ukraine, and Central Asian countries, Med East, and which is headquartered in Bucharest.

In Romania, the country where Vestas has moved its headquarters for its Eastern operations, the Danish giant also has a warehouse where it stores equipment and spare parts and a training center for technicians who provide services for turbines worldwide, both in Constanta County, along with several service centers spread across the country.

The Eas Med division, coordinated from Bucharest, already has a portfolio of 3.4 GW installed, and provides maintenance and service for 2.2 GW. The estimate is that 8 GW will be installed between 2025-2029, according to data we consulted last summer.
